Summer Solstice - 20th June 2020 - Spiritual Ceremony

Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year for the Northern hemisphere and the shortest day for the Southern hemisphere.

 

If you’re on the northern hemisphere like me, this means it’s the official start of summer for us.

 

In life everything comes in phases and cycles. Think about day and night, the cycles of the moon, the 4 seasons of the year, a woman’s cycle etc.

 

As we officially start summer on Saturday (or winter for those in the South), it’s time to close off our old chapter and start a new one.

 

I personally lovee making a ceremony out of it. I provided some questions you can ask yourself below to make sure you can properly head into the next chapter of your life. 

The type of ceremony you want to hold is completely up to you, I included some ideas below but please do what ignites your heart and soul 💜.

 

As this cycle ends, you might feel like a lot of emotions rise up. That's okay. Know that whatever comes up is ready to be worked with. Ask where it's coming from and what you can learn from it. Everything in life is here for us to learn and grow from.  

If you're feeling lost and confused and just "out of it". Sit with it. Center yourself, come back into the present moment and know that you don't need to have everything figured out in this moment. Ironically when you surrender to "I don't know" and "I'm lost" that's when spirit comes to you and gives you ideas and helps you. 

 

It's okay to be lost. It's okay to not know what to do or feel. Wherever you are is exactly where you need to be in this moment.

I achieve everything I set my mind to.

I trust my intuition.

I shine bright like the sun.

I light up all those around me.

I love myself.

Love is always present.

 

 

Tips and ideas for a ceremony:

  • Light a candle, meditate on crystals, sage or light incenses.

  • Meditate on what you want to let go off or your intention for the new chapter.

  • Ground yourself in nature (barefoot walk).

  • Dance like no ones watching and shake off the old energy to make space for the new to come in.

  • Sit in a circle with friends or your partner and talk about the questions above.

  • Write down what you want to let go off and then burn that paper. Imagine what you wrote down leaving your life.

  • Have a bath or shower "away" the old energy.

 

There're endless more ideas to have a ceremony, do what calls your soul and have fun with it.
